Thigh / Buttock Lift
Thigh lift surgery is an out patient procedure performed under a general anesthetic and generally takes two hours to perform. Incision patterns vary based on the area or areas being treated, the amount of correction needed and patient and surgeon preference.
For a medial thigh lift, or inner thigh lift, incisions may be placed in the groin area, extending downward wrapping around the back of the thigh. The underlying tissue will be reshaped and tightened and skin will be reduced and redraped giving the inner thigh a smoother and more proportionate appearance.
A lateral thigh lift, or outer thigh lift, is achieved by making an incision that extends from the groin around the hip. Tissue will be tightened for a smoother, more toned lower body. Incisions are usually placed strategically so as to be hidden by clothing and bathing suits, however they may be extensive.
Deep support sutures in the underlying tissues help to form the newly shaped contours of the thighs while outer lying sutures are used to close the incisions.
