Causes of Facial Redness
There are a number of causes of facial redness including:
- Sensitive prone skin. Even some male skin may be especially sensitive to certain products or environmental conditions.
- Broken capillaries and premature skin aging from years of sun exposure may have have resulted in a blotchy, reddish appearance to your skin.
- Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that affects many adult males and can cause facial skin redness, flushing and at times can progress to skin thickening. Thickening of the skin on the nose is called rhinophyma, frequently seen in males with rosacea.
Many of our male clients seek treatment when they first develop facial redness if they have a family history of males with rhinophyma. These clients are especially concerned about ways to decrease rosacea flare ups including redness in order to try and limit the severity of their early symptoms and signs.
Our experience Skin Care Center staff will discuss your concerns and skin history with you and evaluate the specific cause of your redness.
