BBL Blue Light Acne Treatment

BBL (broadband light) technology is one of the most effective acne therapies available today. In many cases, we can prevent our clients from needing to go on aggressive oral medications or long-term antibiotics. The shorter wavelengths of BBL, in the blue-light spectrum, attack p-acnes bacteria on the surface and in the sebaceous gland, thus killing the bacteria and preventing future breakouts and diminishing current breakouts. During Blue Light treatment cold gel is applied to the treatment area. The specially designed BBL hand piece is gently pressed to your skin in order to administer controlled pulses of light. Some patients mention a slight warming sensation during treatment.

How many treatments should I expect?

We recommend a series of 6 treatments 2-3 weeks apart until the breakouts are under control. Once the breakouts are under control you may need to maintain the results with a periodic follow up treatment. This treatment may also be combined with Microdermabrasion for deeper penetration.

What should I expect after treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve in a few hours. There is no downtime from this procedure.
