Male liposuction surgery is usually performed under a general anesthetic as an out patient procedure. The surgery is performed through small, well-concealed incisions (often referred to as portals).
Sterile liquid solution is infused in the fat in the area to reduce bleeding and trauma. Then a cannula, a thin hollow tube, is inserted through these incisions to loosen excess fat using a controlled back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula.
