Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery

Intermediate Recovery Period After Eyelid Surgery

Within one week after your eyelid surgery any sutures that require removal are removed. The majority of the bruising goes away over the first week and the remainder over the second week. There will be some tightness and swelling from your eyelid surgery which will greatly improve during the first week and gradually over subsequent weeks. The small suture lines are hidden or can be covered up by makeup. You will be instructed in eyelid massage exercises for the most natural, symmetrical result. A natural long-term result from eyelid surgery is obtained for most patients at two weeks.
